5 dangers of consuming too much fast food

Fast food is the mainstay of everyone on a hungry stomach. It tastes good and satiates, but there are a number of dangers behind it.

Some research shows, fast food and processed foods easily increase the risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases. In some countries, fast food restaurants are prohibited from opening and serving customers.

Through various studies, fast food is not just a chronic disease associated with cardiovascular disorders. But it can also cause serious damage to your brain.

What’s worrying is that eating habits of junk food for years can trigger many diseases that are not only physical. But you can also experience mental disorders, such as depression.

In his book Encyclopedia of Junk Food and Fast Food, Andre F Smith defines that junk food includes candy products, bread, ice cream, snacks with MSG spices and canned drinks that have lots of calories, salt and fat.

The more fast food you consume, the less likely you are to get important nutrients that depend on your body. Instead of being curious, here are four side effects that are obtained because of eating too much junk food, reported by NDTV, Monday (01/08/2018).

  1. Causes memory loss

A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2011 showed that healthy people who consume fast food can experience memory decline, often badmood and other problems related to mental disorders. A little nutrient content can cause certain chemical reactions that cause inflammation in the hippocampus region of the brain, which is associated with decreased memory.

  1. Increasing the risk of dementia

There are findings that show that junk food causes dementia risk. Insulin is produced in the pancreas and helps transport glucose to fuel the body. Insulin is also produced in the brain which helps in carrying signals between nerve cells. A study conducted at Brown University shows that people with too much fatty food can increase insulin levels.

  1. Control your appetite

Excess consumption of trans fats found in fried foods and processed foods can make it difficult for the brain to think normally. Though healthy brain function requires essential fatty acids such as omega-6 and omega-3. The lack of these two substances increases the risk of dementia and bipolar disorder and other brain related problems.

  1. Cause Depression

Many studies have shown that eating foods high in sugar and fat actually changes brain chemical activity. Eating junk food too often initially stress can also cause depression for a long time. This can interfere with the usual daily activities.
